Muskegon Lake Watershed Partnership
Formed in 1992, the MLWP hosts monthly, public meetings and is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes that support revitalization of the ecosystem on Muskegon Lake and within it tributaries.

Monthly Public Meetings are held to inform the public about restoration projects and to receive input on watershed priorities. Meetings are held at Grand Valley State University Annis Water Resources Institute, West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission and other watershed locations.

Contact info@MuskegonLake.org to be placed on the e-mail list for monthly meeting agendas and notices.

The Muskegon Lake Action Plan guides the work of the MLWP volunteers and project partners. Implementation progress is discussed at monthly public meetings. The plan will be updated every five years. One of the plan’s major goals is to advance management actions needed to remove Muskegon Lake from the list of Great Lakes Areas of Concern.

Management Actions are scheduled to be complete by the end of 2021.

The MLWP and its partners host an annual, spring volunteer cleanup and other hands-on stewardship events throughout the year to care for natural resources, water quality, native plantings and fish and wildlife habitat.

Our 2022 spring Cleanup will be Sunday, April 24, 8 am – Noon
