The MLWP is a community-based, volunteer partnership organization. The MLWP meets monthly and supports grassroots, local, state, regional, federal and international programs to restore Muskegon Lake and the Great Lakes. We are focused on working cooperatively for the remediation, restoration and revitalization of the Muskegon Lake Watershed ecosystem. In 2018, the MLWP developed the Muskegon Lake Action Plan to help prioritize and guide future watershed actions.
The Partnership strives to be inclusive of its diverse watershed community. Its makeup includes representatives from the general public, academia, conservation, public sector, business/industry and volunteer/philanthropic groups.
The MLWP officers are elected semi-annually. Current officers are:
Dennis Kirksey, Chair
Kim Arter, Vice Chair
Lea Markowski, Secretary
Mark Evans, Treasurer
Staff support for the MLWP is provided by Kathy Evans, West Michigan Shoreline Regional Development Commission
